British Swimming is the National Governing Body for Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Open Water in Great Britain. It is responsible internationally for the high performance representation of the sport. The members of British Swimming are the three Home Countries national governing bodies of England (ASA), Scotland (Scottish ASA) and Wales. The 2016 European Aquatics Championships is part of UK Sport’s #EveryRoadtoRio series, which will feature over 30 world class sports events the length and breadth of the UK, with over 900,000 tickets available to the British public to support their athletes.
This ambitious National Lottery funded programme will support British athletes’ preparation and qualification for Rio 2016, with up to 85 individual and 10 team qualification spots for the Olympic and Paralympic Games available, while also generating economic impact for host cities and regions of over £37 million.
